Free limits

We record the type, time and outcome of analysis requests with your account to apply free limits and protect the service against excessive use.

Cellar backup

We use the identifier provided by Apple and, when available, your first name and verified email to maintain your account. We store this account information in Convex. If you choose Hide My Email, we store the forwarding address provided by Apple. This email is not sent to OpenAI or PostHog and does not sign you up for updates or research invitations. When you save a wine, we store the photo, analysis, preferences and notes on your iPhone and in the cloud using Convex. The cloud copy lets you recover your cellar on another device. Offline uploads are retried when you open Lume with a connection.

Permissions and consent

In Profile, you can withdraw permission for AI analysis and turn off PostHog usage analytics. This prevents new uploads but does not erase data already sent. You can also leave the future-plan interest list. Contact us with requests about previously sent data.

Delete your data

In Profile, choose Delete my account and confirm your identity with Apple. We delete your account, cellar, photos stored by Lume, notes, preferences, palate reading and future-plan signup from the active database, revoke Apple access and clear the copy on this iPhone. A minimal identifier and deletion-time record is kept for up to 24 hours to prevent in-flight uploads from restoring data. Original photos in your device library and content already shared are not deleted. Other devices may keep local copies; remove them on those devices.
